Hearing Art – Seeing Music

Thursday saw the 2nd performance of chamber music accompagnying/accompagnied by a slideshow of images of the adult education photography class I am teaching. The reception was very well, and both musicians and photographers got a lot of applause.

      Thanks, Earl! We are already planning the next event. The pianist is a composer, too, and wrote three pieces for cello and grand piano, and the photography class will provide images for a accompagnying slideshow.

      The most interesting part for me was to see the development of the individual photographers in the class. When we started, some really had difficulties to imagine photographs that could go with musical ideas and not with literal descriptions. But what a development some made: from a straight photographer with literal subjects to really poetic images – this was truly amazing!
