The coffeehouses in Budapest were inviting, especially now as it was neither crowded nor too hot. And with a good sense for design and a certain facileness in decoration they very often formed attractive places to stay. Difficult to resist for someone like me, whose engine runs on coffee of all kinds.

The place looks cozy – although I have to admit that I don’t drink coffee – I satiate my needs in terms of caffeine with tea, tea, tea… Which is sometimes a bit of a disappointment in those places. And a sad little teabag in a pot of lukewarm water is certainly no match for a steaming espresso from one of those spaceship-like machines.
Thomas, there is satisfaction on the way for all tea drinkers: In the meeting breaks in Budapest they served a variete of teas offered from an attaché suitcase. Teabags, nonetheless. And without a proper barista, the show effect of an espresso is somewhat reduced, especially when the preparation gets orchestrated by an overloaded coffee mill and a way to much vibrating small pump. So maybe not a tie break yet, but at least the gap becomes smaller.
