  1. What an excellent title, and fitting, even though the portal may not quite fit. And the birds, the birds!

    1. Juha, thanks. The pigeons are really the icing on the cake here (and I regret a bit that I didn’t frame a bit wider)

  2. It reminds me of when the Wicked Witch of the West gets water thrown on her in the Wizard of Oz. „I’m melting!“

    1. I see what you mean, James. I’ll put the Wizard of Oz on my reading list… but before my holidays in Dingle and Galway, I have to get at least some pages of Joyce’s Ulysses. Tough stuff…

      1. Ulysses!? What a hard road. Maybe Dubliners would better suit your holiday.

        1. Thanks for the hint – I bought the complete Joyce as a dirt-cheap kindle version, so I can abandon Ulysses immediately. It is definitely a hard read in English, especially as both the setting and the language are extremely different from what I am used to read. Normally I can get a feeling for a book within the first pages, but this was not possible with Ulysses.
