When I came across this scenery, I was reminded of the old Christian carol „Es kommt ein Schiff geladen“ (roughly „there comes a ship, loaded“). Looking up if there would be any reasonable translation of the lyrics, I found the term „navis gaudiorum“. In the original sense this is a metaphor for Mother Mary as God Bearer, but here – the words match in a different sense: The hull of this ship was placed on an unused bridge here in Munich to become a pub and party location. A „navis gaudiorum“, a ship of joys, in the truest sense of the words now.
