The year 2020 I see parting with not too much regret, as the plague still rages through the world and has partnered with abundant ignorance almost everywhere…
But there’s also light between the all-too-many dark spots: #45 has not remained president, vaccines have been developed at hitherto unknown speed, Germany saw the election of a new government that pledges to tackle climate change as well as the growing economic divide in society (I know: how much of such promises will be kept we can only assess in hindsight)…
I am notoriously pessimistic, but then: Optimism leads to more concrete suggestions for improvement than destructive pessimism.
So I decided to look for the patches of light in 2022, and I wish all of my readers a happy new year!
