   How common is English language graffiti around Europe? I’m sadly lacking in first hand observation, but I’m wondering how common it is, and whether it shares something with the ubiquity of English in social media internationally. Like the clipped off closed sign, and the retained curve of the reflected streetlight above.

   Carl, English certainly is an important language for the young generation, even more of those still feeling attachments to the 60s and the international and peace movement. Don’t forget – European countries speak quite a number of languages, so English certainly is *the* lingua franca for all who want to communicate across borders.

   The arc of the lamp post and the rainbow were what caught my eye in this scenery.
