Sad enough that a quiet image fits those days so much.
That last days of fall foliage, before the long awaited rain should set in, gives a very special mood. Dryness has alread sucked a good part of the color from the leaves, the sun rises late in the valleys, ice crystals reflect a lot of blue from the sky, and a mood of loneliness can all too easily be interpreted into the impression of the landscape. This is much more my kind of landscape than steel blue skies and hot sunlight, so in all subtlety I tried my best to support a more solemn feeling: using a narrower angle of view, a moderate brightness level, the widest opening of the lens and a very careful amount of selective saturation hopefully has implanted that November feeling in this image.
